New Delhi, May 9 – The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has postponed all scheduled examinations between May 9 and May 14, 2025, in light of the heightened security situation across parts of the country. The affected exams include the remaining papers of the Chartered Accountants Final, Intermediate, and Post Qualification Course [International Taxation – Assessment Test (INTT AT)].
The ICAI issued an official notification on Thursday announcing the deferment. “In partial modification of our announcement dated January 13, 2025, it is hereby informed that due to the prevailing tense security conditions across the country, all examinations scheduled from May 9 to May 14 stand postponed until further notice,” the statement said.
This includes:
- CA Intermediate: Group 2 exams originally slated for May 9, 11, and 14
- CA Final: Group 2 exams scheduled for May 8, 10, and 13
- INTT AT exams: Previously set for May 10 and 13
The Group 1 papers for both Intermediate (May 3, 5, 7) and Final (May 2, 4, 6) were held as per schedule before the escalation in hostilities.
ICAI confirmed that revised dates for the postponed exams will be communicated in due course. The decision follows increased tensions between India and Pakistan, which have led to school closures across multiple districts in Punjab, Rajasthan, and the union territory of Jammu & Kashmir.
Authorities have imposed precautionary shutdowns of educational institutions and transportation hubs in border areas due to ongoing military operations and cross-border threats.
Students are advised to monitor the official ICAI website for updates regarding the new exam schedule.
