The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has arranged a special train to safely relocate players, support staff, and broadcast crews after the IPL 2025 match between Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Delhi Capitals (DC) was abandoned due to escalating tensions between India and Pakistan.
The game, held at the IS Bindra Stadium in Mohali, was halted abruptly with PBKS at 122/1 in 10.2 overs, initially due to a floodlight failure. However, the situation quickly escalated into a security concern, leading to the immediate evacuation of fans and personnel from the venue.
BCCI vice-president Rajiv Shukla confirmed the emergency move. “We are in the process of arranging a special train for everyone related to both teams and the broadcasting group. The match has been called off. We are monitoring the situation, and a decision on the remaining fixtures will be taken soon,” he stated.
Before the disruption, PBKS openers delivered an impressive performance. Priyansh Arya scored a blistering 70 off 34 balls, featuring 6 sixes and 5 fours, while Prabhsimran Singh remained not out on 50 from 28 deliveries, including 7 boundaries.
