Areion Foundation the CSR arm of Areion Group and Omkara Asset Reconstruction Company (ARC) is establishing a dedicated Skill and Community Centre in Ahmedabad to support local youth through education and career-oriented programs.
This marks a significant move towards structured community engagement in the city by the Group promoted by Manish and Prachi Lalwani.
The centre will provide learning tools, skill development opportunities, and other support services aimed at enabling self-reliance and future-readiness among young people, especially those from modest backgrounds.
“This is more than philanthropy-it’s personal. This centre is a tribute to the city that shaped me, and a commitment to those still fighting for a foothold,” said Manish Lalwani, who grew up in Ahmedabad’s Kubernagar area.
Manish Lalwani founded Areion Corporate Advisors India Private Limited in 2013 and also serves as Managing Director and CEO of Omkara ARC.
Since his appointment in March 2018, Omkara’s gross Assets Under Management (AUM) have increased from ₹349 crore to over ₹17,000 crore as of March 2025. The broader Areion Group includes ACAIPL (the holding company), Areion Finserve (NBFC), Areion AMC (AIF), and Areion Fincap (advisory firm), with a combined AUM of over ₹1,200 crore. The group is supported by a team of nearly 200 professionals specializing in financial advisory, distressed debt, mergers & acquisitions, and investment management.
While Manish brings a track record of financial leadership, the new community centre will be implemented under the guidance of Prachi Lalwani, Founder and Chairperson of the Areion Foundation. A finance and accounting professional, Prachi has shaped the Foundation’s work across education, healthcare, sustainable livelihoods, and environmental conservation. Her approach blends her corporate experience with a strong personal commitment to social responsibility.
“This centre is not just about offering training-it’s about creating consistent access to tools and opportunities that can help young people grow. We believe in fostering self-reliance and purpose-led learning,” said Prachi.
The Foundation has already undertaken several community-focused initiatives. These include Project Let’s Go to School-a collaboration with Alert Citizen Forum to distribute essential supplies to over 4,000 tribal students in Palghar; Project DigniKIT, which provided 600 menstrual hygiene kits to women inmates at Byculla Women’s Jail in Mumbai; and Project Computer Mitra and Project Digital Learning, which helped establish a computer lab and introduce digital learning tools at a tribal school in Karjat.
Through this project, the Lalwanis aim to contribute meaningfully to Ahmedabad’s social fabric by directly investing in youth development.
