Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced on Wednesday that the Cabinet Committee on Political Affairs has approved the inclusion of caste enumeration in the upcoming census. Initially scheduled for 2021, the census was delayed due to the Covid-19 pandemic and various technical and logistical challenges.
