The much-anticipated Kailash Mansarovar Yatra will resume after a five-year hiatus, with the government officially opening registration for the pilgrimage. The yatra, which was halted due to the 2020 Galwan clash and the Covid-19 pandemic, is scheduled to take place between June and August 2025.
Pilgrims can now register online for the Yatra, which will be conducted via two routes — the Lipulekh Pass in Uttarakhand and the Nathu La Pass in Sikkim. A computerized, fair, and gender-balanced selection process will determine the final participants.
Five batches of 50 pilgrims each will travel via Lipulekh Pass, while ten batches of 50 pilgrims each will travel through Nathu La Pass.
