In a major relief for over 1,200 students of Classes 10 and 12, the management of Nirman High School in Vastrapur and The New Tulip International School in Bopal has informed parents that the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has reinstated their affiliation.
The two schools had lost their affiliation in March 2025 following a surprise CBSE inspection in December 2024, during which they were flagged for having ‘non-attending’ students on record.
Ashish Desai, trustee of Nirman High School, and Tejas Sridhar, trustee of The New Tulip International School, confirmed that they received official communication from CBSE regarding the reinstatement on Thursday morning.
“The affiliation has been reinstated by CBSE,” said Desai. According to sources close to the matter, Nirman school’s case in Delhi High Court is set for hearing on Friday. The board is expected to submit the reinstatement document in court.
Nirman High School management promptly informed parents of Class 10 and 12 students about the affiliation being reinstated on Thursday itself. About 145 students are in Class 10 and 475 students are enrolled in Class 12 at Nirman High School.
Relief for school community
“We are pleased to inform you that Nirman High School, Vastrapur CBSE Affiliation has been restored with the order dated 23rd April 2025,” the school told parents and students.
“This is a moment of great pride for the entire school and for everyone who had faith in us,” they added.
“We remain committed to providing quality education and a nurturing environment for all our students. We thank each one of you for your continued support and trust in us.”
According to sources familiar with developments, the school has already begun calling Class 10 and 12 students to attend classes for two hours in the morning. Timing adjustments are expected to be sorted out soon.
No transfers needed
When contacted, Sridhar also confirmed receiving communication from the CBSE about the affiliation reinstatement.
“Yes, we confirm school affiliation has been restored, written communication has been received,” he said in an email response.
“We have informed parents and no Tulip school students will be transferred to any other school,” he added.
The New Tulip International School has more than 600 students in Classes 10 and 12. Sridhar noted that the next hearing of their case against CBSE is scheduled for next Monday.
The decision comes as a huge relief for students. The reinstatement means they won’t need to switch schools to continue their Class 10 and 12 education. Such a disruption would have hit their academic progress hard during crucial examination years.
