To improve pedestrian safety and curb road accidents, the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has announced plans to construct five new foot overbridges (FOBs) along SG Highway.
These FOBs will be strategically located between Gota Flyover and Vaishnodevi Circle, with one planned near Nirma University Road. The move comes after the successful implementation of similar FOBs near Swaminarayan Mandir in Shahibaug and Camp Hanuman Mandir.
The project will be executed under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model. Considering the high volume of heavy vehicle traffic on SG Highway, the FOBs will be built at an elevated height of around six metres to ensure safe and convenient pedestrian movement.
