The Leela Gandhinagar celebrated Earth Day on Tuesday by hosting a unique zero-waste cooking competition, which brought together around 40 women passionate about mindful cooking. The event began with participants presenting home-cooked dishes, which were evaluated by The Leela Gandhinagar’s culinary team.
The selected finalists then competed in a live cook-off, while the winners held short demos. A highlight of the event was the sustainable cooking masterclass conducted by The Leela Gandhinagar’s Executive Chef Amit Rohilla and Chef Ashish Thakre, offering expert insights into eco-friendly cooking practices. The event, organised in collaboration with Innovative Food Entrepreneurs Associates (IFEA) and SNS cooking club, concluded with high tea and a curated tour of the hotel.
Vikas Sood General Manager of The Leela Gandhinagar and Mahatma Mandir Convention & Exhibition Centre, shared “At Leela Gandhinagar, we believe true hospitality goes beyond comfort—it nurtures the mind, body, and spirit. Our holistic wellness program Aujasya is thoughtfully designed to offer guests not just a stay, but a journey toward well-being. From mindful nutrition and restorative wellness rituals, every element reflects our commitment to creating a balanced and enriching environment for all who walk through our doors.”
The Leela Gandhinagar also undertook tree plantation to celebrate the occasion. Drawing inspiration from “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign, the hotel’s employees planted over 50 trees and also established an in-house organic garden. An electric bike rally promoted clean transport, while employees participated in a session, showcasing ways to make the best out of waste.
