Pandit Deendayal Energy University has tied up with the National Skill Development Corporation to open a Centre of Excellence on its campus. The centre will offer over 40 online and hybrid courses in areas like semiconductors, manufacturing, energy, and digital technology. It will also have special labs to give hands-on training to students.
Officials said the Centre of Excellence will be a key place for practical learning, research, and working closely with industries in areas like semiconductors, advanced manufacturing, embedded systems, and VLSI design. It aims to build skilled professionals to meet the growing demand in these fields and support the country’s goals of sustainable growth and energy security.

At the launch event, Minister of State for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship and Education, Jayant Chaudhary, said universities are not just institutions of learning but are dynamic bridges that connect young minds to the ever-evolving demands of the real world. “By imparting both technical expertise and liberal knowledge, they empower students to think critically, innovate boldly, and adapt effectively. In this journey of youth development, Gujarat has emerged as a trailblazer, playing a pivotal role in transforming its educational landscape.”
Ved Mani Tiwari, CEO of NSDC and MD of NSDC International, said the partnership will help build training infrastructure in areas like smart manufacturing, automotive, EV charging, renewable energy, and semiconductors. He added that the Centre will offer courses for ITI, diploma, undergraduate, and postgraduate students
