Two Class 12 Science students from Gujarat have secured a spot among the top 25 students in India, each scoring a 100 percentile rank in the JEE Mains 2025. The National Testing Agency released the results late Friday night. Shiven Toshniwal from Ahmedabad and Aadit Bhagade from Vadodara have emerged as the state toppers with perfect scores.
Toshniwal secured All India Rank-9 while Bhagade grabbed AIR 14.
Both students’ parents work as medical practitioners; however, Toshniwal and Bhagade have chosen engineering for their career paths.
Another A’bad boy in JEE top 100
Another Ahmedabad student, Mohit Agarwal, secured AIR 90, earning a spot in the top 100. JEE Main runs in two sessions—January 2025 and April 2025. NTA declared the ‘best of two’ scores for students who sat both sessions, which serves as the gateway to Bachelor of Engineering and Bachelor of Technology courses.
Preparation pays off
According to a media report, Toshniwal said he scored 100 percentile in the first session and 99.999 percentile in Session 2.
“I’m from Anjar in Kutch and moved in with my maternal grandparents in Ahmedabad to pursue engineering. After scoring 100 percentile in Mains-1, I shifted my focus to JEE-Advanced, which determines IIT admissions,” he said. He added, “I take exams at least four days a week, look over my scores and papers and spot weak areas to work on. While preparing for JEE-Advanced, I make sure I sleep for seven to eight hours and study for 12 to 13 hours daily,” said Toshniwal, a student of Lakshya International School.
Bhagade scored 100 percentile in Session 2 after achieving 99.99 percentile in Session 1 of JEE-Mains.
“I mainly focused on daily teaching in school and tuition and went through it thoroughly. Before the exam, I turned to reference books and mock tests,” he explained.
“We formed a group of friends who took the mocks together and discussed papers to understand question patterns,” he said. Bhagade stayed away from social media and unwound by playing sports—cricket and table tennis.
