Gujarat has become the first state in India to officially notify a SpaceTech Policy for 2025–2030. Drawing inspiration from the visionary legacy of Dr. Vikram Sarabhai, the policy outlines both fiscal and non-fiscal support to bolster the entire spectrum of space sector activities.
The state will also work closely with INSPACE, Department of Space (Government of India) to develop a space manufacturing park with infrastructure including common technical facilities providing a strong plat-form and critical impetus to propel the growth of enterprises in the space sector, the officials said.
“The space sector has emerged as one of the most strategically vital industries today, enabling foundational functionalities in sectors such as defence, communication, navigation, healthcare, internet access, data transfer, earth observation, disaster management, mineral exploration, weather forecasting and many more,” officials said.
