At least six people were killed and several others injured after an autorickshaw collided with a bus on the Sami-Radhanpur highway in Gujarat’s Patan district on Thursday.
Acoording to Patan District Superintendent of Police,The accident reportedly occurred at around 11.30 am near Sami village of the district. The state road transport bus was going towards Kutch from Himmatnagar, while the three-wheeler was coming from the opposite direction.
“All six persons travelling in the autorickshaw, including the driver, died on the spot. The impact was so intense that the mangled remains of the auto got stuck underneath the bus,” said Nayi.
As per the official, the accident took place as the driver of the bus might have lost control while trying to overtake another vehicle.
Upon receiving the information, police quickly reached the scene and launched a rescue operation. The injured were promptly taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. Authorities have initiated an investigation into the cause of the accident.
