While many human resource officers have questioned GenZ’s ‘attitude’ in the workplace, Aman Gupta, a Shark Tank judge and investor, praised them for bringing “truly unique” traits to work environments. Speaking at GLSU@10 on Tuesday, an event celebrating GLS University’s 10th anniversary, Gupta highlighted how GenZ is bold, expressive, and unafraid to challenge the norm.
He said in his speech.”Gen Z brings something truly unique to the workplace-they’re bold, expressive, and unafraid to challenge the norm. They don’t just work; they create, question, and innovate. From how they design their workspaces to how they communicate, Gen Z is redefining professionalism with authenticity and creativity. And that’s exactly what the future needs-individuals who are not afraid to be themselves while making an impact”.
He also spoke passionately about the importance of failure, stressing that it is not a setback but a stepping stone to success. “Failure is a part of life – embrace it, learn from it, and move forward,” he advised, encouraging students to treat challenges as growth opportunities.
The co-founder & CMO of boAt, he discussed the bold and unconventional marketing strategies that positioned the brand as a youth favourite. From tapping into pop culture to influencer collaborations and digital storytelling, he emphasised the power of staying authentic and connected to the audience.
He also touched upon the value of risk-taking in entrepreneurship, urging students to break out of comfort zones, and chase ideas with courage. “Without risk, there’s no real reward,” he noted.
“In life and in business, not everything can be perfectly planned – and that’s okay. Sometimes, the best moments, breakthroughs, and lessons come from the unplanned. Planning gives you direction, but being flexible gives you resilience. Every plan may not work out, but every experience will teach you something valuable,” he added.
