A shocking incident of sexual harassment has come to light from Bengaluru’s BTM Layout, where a man was caught on CCTV misbehaving with a woman in the early hours of April 3. The incident took place around 1:55 am. In the viral footage, the man is seen approaching two women from behind, touching one of them inappropriately, and then quickly running away from the scene.
An FIR has been registered at the Suddaguntepalya Police Station under Section 354B of the IPC, which deals with assault or use of criminal force with intent to disrobe a woman. The complaint was filed by a local resident. The accused is currently unidentified, and police are investigating the matter based on CCTV footage.
In the CCTV footage, the man is seen following two women for a short distance before suddenly lunging forward, groping one of them, and fleeing the spot. The women appear visibly shocked and quickly leave the area after the incident.
According to police sources, the victim has not yet filed a formal complaint. However, an investigation is already underway. Police are examining CCTV footage from several cameras in and around the area to trace the accused. Officials added that if no complaint is received, a suo motu case will be registered.
