Ahmedabad Civic body receives over 70k applications for impact fee

The Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has received a total of 74,150 applications for the impact fee under the GRUDA 2022 act, aimed at regularising unauthorised constructions. The AMC will also organise Lok Darbars across various zones to hear these applicants’ concerns. Though the AMC had earlier announced dates for the Lok Darbar, the committee chairman was unaware of it. The chairman on Friday said that new dates will be finalised and announced soon.

Out of 74,150 applications, only 20,526 have been accepted, while 41,989 applications have been rejected. The highest number of applications for impact fees came from the South Zone which received 14,510 applications. With only 4,886 applications, the Central Zone received the lowest number of applications. AMC generated Rs 240.04 crore through impact fee collection.

The corporation plans to organise a Lok Darbar across various zones to guide citizens about the application process, and ensure speedy disposal of applications. The initiative will serve as a platform for addressing grievances of citizens, and providing them assistance regarding the impact fee application process.

Initially, the Lok Darbar was scheduled from April 2 to April 25. However, Estate Committee chairman Pritesh Mehta, on Friday, said that the dates will be finalised and announced soon. Notably, the deadline for submitting applications has been extended to June 16. The citizens can submit their application on the e-nagar portal (Website: www. Enagar.gujarat.gov.in).
