The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has approved the sale of government land in four Rabari colonies in Odhav, Amraiwadi, and Jashodanagar (old and new).
Covering 6.57 lakh square meters and valued at over 332 crore, the land will be sold for just 83 crore, which is 25% of the current Jantri rate.
At the Standing Committee meeting on Friday, chairman Devang Dani announced the sale at a reduced price. The state government will review the resolution before allotting the land to occupants, subject to documentation. Around 1,100 houses in these colonies will be allocated.
Dani stated that the land would be offered at 25% of the Jantri rate or as per the state government’s decision. Once approved, payment and documentation must be completed within six months.
Earlier, illegal encroachments in Odhav led to controversy. To resolve this, the AMC’s Standing Committee decided to grant permanent ownership rights to around 1,100 houses in these colonies.
