The much-anticipated Hisar Airport is on track to receive its operational license before March 20th, paving the way for the commencement of commercial flights, according to Haryana’s Civil Aviation Minister, Vipul Goel. The Haryana government has already entered into an agreement with Alliance Air to operate flights from Hisar. In the first phase, services are planned to connect Hisar with five major cities: Jaipur, Ahmedabad, Chandigarh, Ayodhya, and Jammu.
Goel’s statement comes after a series of inspections and compliance measures undertaken at the airport. In August 2024, a team from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) identified 44 discrepancies during a three-day inspection. These issues were subsequently addressed, and a revised report was submitted to the DGCA.
Following the DGCA inspection, a six-member team from the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) also conducted a thorough review of the airport’s security arrangements. While the BCAS team also raised some minor concerns, they indicated that the license could be issued in the first week of March if these issues were rectified by February 28th.
“We are confident that the Hisar Airport will receive its license before March 20th, allowing us to begin flight operations shortly thereafter,” stated Minister Goel.
