To accommodate the large number of devotees travelling for the Maha Shivratri festivities and Mela, Western Railway has introduced a special train service between Gandhigram Railway Station in Ahmedabad and Veraval Junction. These trains will operate daily till the 28th of February, ensuring a smoother journey for pilgrims heading to Somnath and Junagadh.
Know timing, halts and booking details
Train No. 09567 will depart from Gandhigram at 10:10 AM and reach Veraval at 5:40 PM on the same day, while Train No. 09568 will leave Veraval at 9:20 PM and arrive at Gandhigram at 8:00 AM the following morning.
The trains will stop at several stations along the route, allowing passengers to board from multiple locations. The key halts include Sarkhej, Bavla, Dholka, Dhandhuka, Botad, Dhola, Dhasa, Lathi, Chital, Vadiya Devli, Jetalsar, Junagadh, Keshod, Maliya Hatina, Virpur, Gondal, Bhakti Nagar, Rajkot, Wankaner, Than, and Surendranagar Junction. The special trains will feature Sleeper Class and General Second Class coaches to accommodate a larger number of passengers.
Bookings are now open and as these trains operate under special fares, passengers are advised to check fare details and carry original ID proof for all reserved tickets.
