More double-decker buses will soon be seen plying on the roads of Ahmedabad as Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel today allocated funds for the procurement of seven double-decker buses.
The Chief Minister allocated a total of ₹537.21 crore for public welfare and development works across several municipal corporations and municipalities. Out of this, ₹58.47 crore has been sanctioned as a grant to the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation for the procurement of 260 electric buses and seven electric double-decker buses under the Chief Minister Urban Bus Transport Scheme.
It is noteworthy that seven such double-decker buses are already plying on designated routes in the city. With the addition of seven more, the total number of double-decker buses will increase to 14.
