The Kanoria Centre for Arts (KCA) christened its iconic central step area the ‘Balkr-ishna Doshi Chowk’ on Tuesday in commemoration of the late architect, who served as Honorary Director of the KCA and played an integral part in its expansion. The move is the art centre’s way of honouring the late Padma Vibhushan awardee’s legacy and faith in the transforming power of art and design. According to old-timers, Doshi spent a lot of time in the middle open space, which was his favourite site for conversation and creative interaction.
