Five people from Mehsana have been arrested for running a fake stock market call centre in Mumbai. The centre which had been scamming people by promising big profits on stock market investments was busted by Gujarat State Cyber Crime Cell in Gandhinagar.
The arrested have been identified as Sheikh Mohammad Zahid Allarakha, Shakeel Yakubkhan Chauhan, Faizan Chauhan, Mohammad Junaid Sheikh and Ramiz Nasir Shipai. They used to call victims from unknown numbers, posing as stock market analysts. To gain trust, they initially deposited Rs 35,000 into the victims’ accounts. Once the victims believed in their scheme, they were pressured into investing more with promises of even bigger returns. Based on complaints, the cyber crime police registered an FIR and launched an investigation.
