Gujarat is expected to become hotter and witness unseasonal rainfall, though Ahmedabad will remain dry with clear skies. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), scattered showers are likely in parts of the state on February 2 and 3.
The IMD has predicted light rain at isolated locations on February 2, particularly in South Gujarat districts such as Valsad, Navsari, Daman, and Dadra & Nagar Haveli. Saurashtra’s Amreli and Bhavnagar districts may also receive showers. On February 3, the rain belt is expected to extend to North Gujarat, covering Aravalli, Dahod and Mahisagar, while Amreli and Bhavnagar may continue to see light showers.
“Residents of South Gujarat, Saurashtra, and North Gujarat should remain alert and plan accordingly. However, Ahmedabad is expected to have stable and dry weather as February unfolds,” said a Met official. Ahmedabad will experience clear skies, with the minimum temperature hovering around 17°C. The IMD recorded a maximum temperature of 30.2°C and a minimum of 16.6°C in the city on January 28.
