Gujarat Energy Transmission Corporation (GETCO) has relieved three engineers who were wrongly appointed in 2012.
The authorities have also launched an investigation against these three individuals regarding the improper appointments and have initiated steps to recover ₹2.5 crore paid as salaries over the past 13 years.
According to sources, during a recruitment drive conducted in 2012, an HR official at GETCO appointed three individuals who were not on the merit list but still received appointment orders.
These engineers commenced their employment, but four years later, it came to light that the HR official had made incorrect appointments. Consequently, the HR official was dismissed from the job, and a show-cause notice was issued to the three engineers.
Out of the three, two individuals approached the court. After hearings, the court directed GETCO authorities to conduct an investigation and take necessary actions.
Following the court’s directive, GETCO relieved the three engineers on Monday and has initiated measures to recover the salaries paid to them during their employment.
