The Ramol Police have arrested three youths for assaulting their former schoolmate. The trio attacked the victim after he allegedly sent an Instagram request to a female friend of one of the accused.
According to the complaint filed by the victim’s mother, the incident occurred on January 8th, when the victim went to collect clothes from a laundry. When he did not return home until late, the family searched for him in the Maninagar area. Subsequently, the mother filed a missing complaint at the Kagdapith Police Station. On January 11th, the mother learned that her son had been admitted to Civil Hospital with injuries to his lips, nose, head, and ears, which were caused by a blunt object, according to the doctors.
During the investigation, police found three teenagers attempting to sell a scooter without a number plate in Gomtipur. The police apprehended them, and they confessed that the scooter belonged to their schoolmate, whom they had assaulted and robbed.
The trio had a prior dispute with the victim. Upset over him sending an Instagram request to a female friend, they lured him to Kamdhenu Ground and attacked him with a cement block. Later they left him unconscious, assuming he was dead, before fleeing with his phones and scooter. The three have been handed over to Ramol Police and formally arrested.
