shocking incident at Mumbai Airport has caught widespread attention on social media after a video surfaced showing a woman physically assaulting a cab driver
The woman, reportedly frustrated over missing her flight, took out her anger on the driver, slapping and kicking him repeatedly.
The video, recorded by a man sitting in a nearby car, captures the chaotic scene. In the footage, the man can be heard saying in Hindi, “Daud-daud ke maar rhi hai, uchchal-uchchal kar maar rahi hai…dekho kaise maar rhi hai laat-waat.” The woman is seen running after the cab driver whenever he tries to escape her blows. Reports suggest that she had booked her ride through the cab aggregator app Ola.
The clip was shared on X, formerly known as Twitter, by a user who criticised the woman’s behaviour, saying: “This entitled and empowered woman missed her flight due to her own delay. Instead of accepting her mistake, she vented her frustration on this @Olacabs driver. The life of these cab drivers is always at the mercy of passengers.”
The post has sparked heated discussions, amassing over 2,200 likes and nearly 1,000 reposts since it was uploaded on January 23. While many condemned the woman’s actions, some comments pointed out alleged scams by cab drivers to increase fares.
The Mumbai Traffic Police responded to the viral post, urging the uploader to report the matter to the nearest police station. Meanwhile, Ola has yet to release an official statement regarding the incident.
Social media users have expressed mixed reactions, with one suggesting that the woman should be blacklisted by both cab services and airlines. Another user remarked on issues with some cab drivers, accusing them of taking longer routes or cancelling rides for profit.
