Colours of facial expressions
In his solo exhibition of portraits, Prashant Luhar (architect, urban planner and artist) has focussed on portraits, exploring the medium through oil, charcoal, watercolour, and pencil. Each piece reflects Luhar’s fascination with human emotions and capturing their expressions while also reflecting his unique approach to portraiture. Luhar’s style, he says, incorporates a blend of realism and subtle abstraction to “create a dialogue between precision and spontaneity, giving each portrait a distinctive artistic language.”

True to its constant endeavour to provide an integrative platform to connect artists with art lovers and patrons in the city, the ‘Mukhote 22 National Art Exhibition’ brings together works by artists including Ajit Vaghela, Bhargava Suthar, Bhaskargiri Goswami, Dhaval Vinchhi, Girish Patel, Het Darji, Jinal Savaliya, Manushi Shah Chokshi, Mitaksh Soni, Sangita Rathod, Sejal Bhaveshbhai Khatri, Shruti Soni, Yuvrajsinh Jadeja and more. Each work, said viewers, is a testimony to the artists’ prowess in their chosen method and medium of expression.

Exploring the complexities of the human mind
In his short film Oh That’s Bhanu, award-winning filmmaker RV Ramani has stepped into the life of Bhanumati Rao, a former dancer and theatre actor who lived a pragmatic yet passionate life. Ramani filmed Bhanumati from 2014 to 2019, and at a time when she was struggling with her memory and hearing, the film explores a journey of performance through the spasms of memory, complexities of relationships, love and a reflection of what could constitute a beautiful mind.

Immerse yourself in Sufi magic
A virtuoso of ghazals, bhajans, and Sufi melodies, Indira Naik, will take the stage in the city this weekend to mesmerise the audience with her renditions that are a unique fusion of Patiala Gayaki and Sufi compositions, transporting listeners into a soul-wrenching experience.

Understand an image-driven world
Where Are the 1,001 Words that a Picture Said?’ to be held at Conflictorium this weekend, is an interactive screen-based discussion focusing on finding “effective ways to engage with the unique millennial possibility to make and circulate images.” Conducted by experts, the workshop will help participants find answers to critically existential questions about how to respond to images at a time when we are inundated with them, the importance of images in the current era and more.
