The newly constructed Oxygen Park by the Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC) in South Bopal, Ahmedabad, was inaugurated by Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel. CM Patel also visited the newly constructed Oxygen Park and planted trees on this occasion.
The Oxygen Park, developed by the AMC on a PPP basis, covers an area of approximately 1,900 sq.m. It features attractive gazebos for seating and walking tracks. In addition, various types of flower plants, including trees like white champa, coconut, mogra, madhukamini, borsali, billipatra, garamalo, pintu forum, neem, almond, gulamhor, teak, casudo, and cassia pink, have been planted.
It is noteworthy that the AMC has planted a total of 75 lakh trees in the past five years under the Mission Million Trees campaign.
A total of 319 Oxygen Parks/Urban Forests have been established by the Municipal Corporation in various zones of Ahmedabad city. These include 4 in the Central Zone, 84 in the East Zone, 59 in the North West Zone, 36 in the North Zone, 68 in the South West Zone, 29 in the South Zone, and 43 Oxygen Parks/Urban Forests in the West Zone.
Additionally, regarding the city’s gardens and vertical gardens, there are a total of 303 gardens, including 20 in the Central Zone, 28 in the East Zone, 28 in the North West Zone, 43 in the North Zone, 29 in the South West Zone, 31 in the South Zone, 81 in the West Zone, and 5 riverfront areas.
The AMC is committed to increasing the city’s greenery and improving the well-being of its citizens this year as well. Continuing this initiative, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel launched another Oxygen Park, an official note said.
On this occasion, Ahmedabad City Mayor Mrs. Pratibhaban Jain, Deputy Mayor Mr. Jatinbhai Patel, Chairman of the Standing Committee Mr. Devang Dani, Municipal Commissioner Shri M. Thennarsan, along with municipal officials and corporators, were present.
