Ahmedabad Airport has replaced the image of a bottle on its baby care room signboard following a complaint from a Gandhidham-based pediatrician. Dr. Rajesh Maheshwari had raised concerns about the signboard on social media, stating that the depiction of a bottle was promoting the use of bottled milk, which can be harmful to infants.
Dr. Maheshwari observed that while the Chennai Airport’s baby care room signboard accurately portrays a mother and child, the Ahmedabad Airport’s previous signboard included a bottle. He emphasized that bottled milk is not as beneficial for infants as breast milk and that promoting its use through signage was misleading.
In December 2024, Dr. Maheshwari had tweeted to the concerned authorities, highlighting the issue. Following his complaint, the Ahmedabad Airport has now replaced the bottle image with a more appropriate one of a mother and child. Dr. Maheshwari recently visited the airport and confirmed the change.
