The air quality in Ahmedabad T worsened on Friday, with the city recording an AQI (Air Quality Index) of 196, signaling unhealthy conditions for residents. Specific areas like Usmanpura (225), Tulsinagar (222), Sardar Vallabhbhai Stadium (217), Chandkheda (215), Bodakdev (203), Vasant Nagar (200) and Rakhial (198) reported even higher AQI levels, triggering health concerns.
According to AQI metrics, breath- ing the air in these locations is as harmful as smoking 3.6 cigarettes daily, equating to 25.2 cigarettes weekly or 108 cigarettes monthly, Following light rain on Thursday evening, the city recorded a marimum temperature of 19.3°C on Friday, a sig nificant 7.1°C above normal. The morning’s relative humidity stood at 87%. Meanwhile, Gujarat’s coldest city, Naliya, experienced a slight increase in temperature, reaching 10.5°C after days of being below 10°C.
Over the past 24 hours, scattered rain was reported in parts of Gujarat. Sabarkantha and Kheda districts wit nessed sporadic showers on Friday morning, with Vijayanagar and Kapadvanj recording 3 mm of rainfall.
