A fire broke out early this morning in a multi-storey commercial building in the city and spread rapidly, completely engulfing and destroying three floors of the structure. However, as the fire occurred in the early morning when the offices were closed, no casualties were reported.
The blaze started around 4:30 AM on the ninth floor of the C-wing of Ahmedabad’s Titanium Square building, located in the Thaltej area. It subsequently spread to the eighth and tenth floors, according to in-charge Chief Fire Officer Jayesh Khadia.
Preliminary investigations suggest that a short circuit might have triggered the fire. At the time of the incident, the offices in the building were unoccupied.
A total of 28 fire tenders and other firefighting vehicles were deployed to the scene. It took approximately three hours for the firefighters to bring the blaze under control, the official added.
