Indus Univ took students in diploma programme without FRC’s approval for fee structure
The Fee Regulatory Committee (FRC)-Technical on Tuesday slapped a fine of Rs 50,000 on city-based Indus University for admitting students in a programme without getting the fee structure approved by the committee.
An official communique stated that the decision to impose the fine was taken after the university accept- ed the violation of the rule of getting the fee structure approved by the FRC before admitting students.
“It has come to the notice of the Fee Regulation Committee (Technical) that under the new Diploma Programme started by the Institute for the class 2023-24, the students were admitted without getting the fee fixed by the Institute with the Fee Regulation Committee (Technical)” the communiqué added.
The FRC stated that “responsible officers” of the institute had accepted the lapse. Since this is the first time that the varsity has been found to be violating rules, the committee imposed a fine of Rs 50,000.
