The investigation into the Khyati Hospital deaths has widened, with six city-based private and trust hospitals being summoned daily by the city crime branch for questioning regarding PMJAY patients they have treated so far.
Investigators told Mirror that officials of 145 hospitals in the city have been asked to provide medical records of patients treated under the PMJAY scheme. “We are now carrying out a comprehensive investigation to uncover the whole scam, which requires verification of hospitals other than Khyati,” an investigator said.

No clean chit for health officials
Crime branch sources said the nine health department officials called in for questioning are yet to be cleared. Some of them are suspected to have received yearly perks from Khyati Hospital.
