The Sabarmati Riverfront Development Corporation Limited (SRFDCL) today announced that E City Real Estate Ventures has been approved for the WGN-05 footprint. SRFDCL had issued a Request for Proposal (RFP) for the WGN-05 footprint located at Vallabhasadan on the western bank of the riverfront. Mumbai-based E City Real Estate Ventures was the H-1 bidder for this. The bid for the H-1 bidder had already been approved by SRFDCL’s project committee, and today, the SRFDCL board also approved E City Real Estate Ventures to proceed.
Decision to reissue RFP for EGN-01 footprint: SRFDCL had also issued a Request for Proposal (RFP) for the EGN-01 footprint located behind Lemon Tree Hotel on the eastern side of the riverfront. However, the RFP was deemed unresponsive. As a result, SRFDCL has decided to reissue the RFP for the same footprint for mixed-use commercial development. The first five floors, starting from the ground level, will be dedicated exclusively to commercial development, while the upper floors may also include residential development.
Approval to issue RFPs for two new footprints: SRFDCL has also approved the issuance of fresh Requests for Proposals (RFPs) for two additional footprints. The first footprint is located on the west bank, near Keshavnagar, next to the railway bridge along Riverfront West, and is earmarked for mixed-use commercial development, including residential. The second footprint is located behind the National Institute of Design (NID) on Riverfront West, which is also for mixed-use commercial development. These new RFPs will be issued soon for development in these areas.
Smart and Movable Food Kiosks: As discussed in today’s board meeting, smart and movable food kiosks will be strategically placed on the lower and upper walkways of the Riverfront, where pedestrian traffic is high. These kiosks will offer water, tea, coffee, and light snacks, enhancing the experience for visitors seeking rest and refreshment on the walkways. The initiative aims to provide a convenient and enjoyable service for those visiting the Riverfront.
Furthermore, as discussed in today’s board meeting, signage will be strategically installed at key locations in Riverfront Phase I, initially focusing on the upper and lower walkways near the Atal Bridge area and the Event Centre. Thereafter, a comprehensive signage system will be implemented across the Riverfront, designed to help visitors navigate the area easily. The signage will be developed according to international standards, ensuring clear and professional wayfinding, enabling visitors to easily reach various destinations on the riverfront. The initiative aims to enhance the overall visitor experience by providing efficient and effective directional guidance.
