The 52nd International Emmy Awards, celebrating the best in global television, took center stage on November 25, 2024, at the New York Hilton Midtown.
Indian comedian and actor Vir Das, who won his first International Emmy last year, returned to make history as the first Indian to host the prestigious ceremony.
Organized by the International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (IATAS), the event showcased 56 nominations from 21 countries across 14 categories, including Drama Series, Comedy, Best Actor, Best Actress, Documentary, and Arts Programming.
For viewers in the United States, the ceremony aired live from 5 pm to 11 pm EST.
The 2024 International Emmy Awards nominations reflect an impressive range of global talent and content. ‘Daily Dose of Sunshine’ (South Korea) was nominated for Best Comedy Series. Sandeep Modi’s ‘The Night Manager,’ featuring Anil Kapoor, Aditya Roy Kapur, and Sobhita Dhulipala, represented India at the event. It competed in the Drama Series category but missed out on a win. The award went to ‘Les Gouttes de Dieu (Drops of God).’
The nominations span 14 categories, including Best Performance by an Actor, Best Performance by an Actress, Short-Form Series, Documentary, Arts Programming, Telenovela, Sports Documentary, Kids: Animation, Kids: Live-Action, Kids: Factual & Entertainment, Non-Scripted Entertainment, and TV Movie/Mini-Series.
