In response to a rise in criminal activity, Ahmedabad’s acting police chief, Additional Director General of Police, has issued a strict prohibition on carrying weapons and explosives in public spaces.
The notification specifically bans sharp objects exceeding 2.5 inches in length, licensed firearms in public areas, explosives or any items that could pose a threat, stones carried with the intent to harm, and flaming torches used in public processions. This directive aims to curb violence and ensure the safety and security of citizens across the city.
