Don’t be afraid of failures, instead treat them like great teachers and learn from them, said Murty Trust Chairperson Sudha Murty on Saturday.
The Padma Bhushan and Padma Shri awardee, Chairperson of Murty Trust Sudha Murty made these remarks while addressing the graduates during the convocation ceremony at Anant National University in Ahmedabad where she was the chief guest. Murty emphasised upon the importance of creativity asserting that “it remains the basic sign of progress”. She reminded the Anant students to continue “being the catalysts in changing the country through empathy and creativity”.
The University on Saturday conferred degrees on 293 students. Addressing the students, Sudha Murty who is also Rajya Sabha Member and Founder of Infosys Foundation, said, “You are all creative individuals. Through design, you express your emotions and ideas. Don’t be afraid of failures, accept failures also… like a great teacher”. She added: “Second thing is good work ethics. The work ethic will not come in one day. You have to practice it. There is no shortcut to success other than hard work. Of course, you require a little bit of luck and a little bit of thinking at the right time at the right place. But without hard work, no one has come up in life”.
All of you are creators like Lord Brahma. I call you the creators of design who express emotions through design. Everybody has a different way of expression. Your expression is through design. Most importantly you are connected to people through (your) projects. Children today are not connected to the people. They are not connected to the poor people,” she added.
