From the investigation in Nadiad, it emerged that the firm had allegedly indulged in tax evasion by concealing sales and underreporting its tax liability… The total tax liability detected was in excess of Rs 53 lakh,” according to the statement.
The investigation on the two battery dealers in Ahmedabad revealed that these firms had been allegedly importing batteries and selling them locally without invoices to evade taxation. During the operation, unaccounted stock and sales were found, resulting in a total tax liability in excess of Rs 92 lakh.
The SGST statement said, “Appropriate legal action to protect and realise government revenue is being pursued vigorously by State Tax Department.”
