The Ahmedabad City District Education Office has issued a notice to schools that have failed to submit online applications for the Saraswati Sadhana Scheme, which provides free bicycles to socially and economically backward girls studying in Class 9 in government and grant-in-aid schools.
Despite repeated instructions from the DEO office to submit the applications on the Digital Gujarat portal within the time frame, many schools have not submitted the applications, resulting in delays in implementing the scheme.
DEO Rohit Chaudhari has instructed the concerned schools to prepare and submit offline proposals for the beneficiary students to the office of the Social Justice and Empowerment Department in Asarwa within three days.
Additionally, representatives of schools that have not adhered to the deadline have been directed to appear in person at the DEO office to explain their negligence. The DEO has warned that if schools fail to submit a satisfactory explanation, action will be taken.
