A one-day workshop was held at the new Police Commissioner’s Office in Ahmedabad on Tuesday to enhance coordination between central agencies and the state police. The event was organised by the Gujarat Intelligence Bureau and chaired by state police chief Vikas Sahay.
Senior officials from various central agencies, including the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), Central Intelligence Bureau (IB), Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), Department of Telecommunications, NATGRID and FRRO-Ahmedabad, shared key insights about their departments. They provided detailed information about the tools, portals and applications used in their operations, aiming to familiarise the state police with these resources.
The workshop focused on building better coordination between state and central law enforcement agencies to strengthen national security efforts. Plans are also in place to organise similar workshops at the district level in the future.
Key attendees included Gujarat DGP Vikas Sahay, Ahmedabad city police commissioner GS Malik, acting chief of the State Intelligence Bureau MS Bharada, city joint commissioner of police Ajay Chaudhary, State IB DCI Haresh Dudhat, ACIs from the State IB and 36 DySPs and 91 PIs from across Gujarat.
