Ahmedabad: GIFT City authorities have started the work of developing a unique Central Park spread over around 21 acres, said sources. A senior official of the GIFT City said, “Central Park is the prime green space at the heart of GIFT City and is envisioned to further enhance social infrastructure offerings at GIFT City. The park has been designed not only for both occasional and ceremonial festivities and activities but gives equal importance to day-to-day activities for neighbouring residents and office users.”
He added that Phase-1 development of around 7 acres is under implementation and is expected to be operational in early 2025. “The proposed development under Phase-1 will include a food court with restaurants and kiosks, public plazas, arrival courts, seating areas, events ground, shaded walking/jogging tracks, cycle tracks, spillover areas on terraces, and misting features,” he added.
GIFT City is developing a food and beverages facility as part of the Central Park. According to the official, a total of around 30 outlets with varying sizes will be available, including ground floor, first floor, areas for the terraced restaurant zone, and other typologies of kiosks-restaurants.
The designing work of Central Park Phase-2 in around 14 acres is underway, said sources.
GIFT City saw the arrival of GCC (Global Capability Centres) and Global In-house Centres (GICs), which generated significant employment. The International Financial Services Centre (IFSC) saw increased interest from international banks, insurance companies, fintech firms, ship and aircraft leasing companies, and now accounting firms are setting up their bases in GIFT City.
Commercial development at GIFT City is going on at a fast pace, and residential development is also taking place. The development of Central Park will provide much-needed social infrastructure to people, and it will help attract more talent to GIFT City in the coming years,” said a developer.
