Subhash Bridge RTO plans to install large boards to caution people against agents
protect citizens from falling prey to fraudulent agents, Subhash Bridge RTO has planned to install large boards inside and outside its premises, cautioning people against deceptive agents who try to lure people with promises of completing RTO related works for a fee. The warning follows after a recent crackdown by the RTO wherein half-a-dozen agents were detained for conducting unauthorised activities around the premises.
Subhash Bridge RTO officer JJ Patel said, “Our office has strictly banned entry of agents. However, some agents still stand outside, convincing citizens to pay them for completing their RTO work. We recently detained several of these agents and took legal action against them.”
The RTO aims to make citizens more aware of such frauds. “To prevent citizens from falling into the agents’ trap, we’ve already put up boards inside our licence branch, and we’ll soon install large boards outside as well. This way, people can stay alert and avoid dealing with such deceptive agents,” said Patel.
Sources from the RTO added that the fraudulent agents typically promise services like fast-tracking driving tests, speeding up vehicle registration, or securing fitness certificates, often charging significant fees for these promises. Despite the ban, they continue to stand near the RTO, taking advantage of citizens unfamiliar with the RTO’s processes.
