A part of the elevated construction of the Ahmedabad-Mumbai bullet train project collapsed in Rajpara near Vasad in Anand, killing two of the labourers out of four trapped under the debris.
Three of the trapped labourers were taken out after the incident and were shifted to a nearby hospital, out of which, two lost their lives. One labourer is still trapped under the rubble.
As soon as the incident was reported, senior police officials and a convoy including an ambulance rushed to the spot.
Immediate rescue and relief operations were carried out by the fleet including the police, and cranes were also used to clear out heavy debris.
