India’s Union Home Minister inaugurated Gujarat’s largest waste-to-energy plant in Ahmedabad, a major step towards enhancing the city’s waste management capabilities and environmental sustainability.
Situated in Piplaj, this state-of-the-art facility, developed at a cost of ₹375 crore under Public Private Partnership (PPP) model, will process 1,000 metric tons of waste daily and generate 15 megawatts of electricity per hour.
Utilising advanced RDF-based Martin Reverse Grate Firing Technology, the plant is designed to improve waste disposal while contributing to energy production and environmental conservation efforts.
