Thieves stabbed a woman at a residence in the Prahladnagar area of Ahmedabad with a knife and stole two phones and money before fleeing the scene.
Laxmi Soni, hailing from Nepal, works at Riviera 20 in Prahlad Nagar. She was employed to care for the bungalow and the children of Dhaval Sukhadia, the owner.
On Sunday, around 3.30 am, thieves broke into the first-floor room where Soni was sleeping. Three thieves held her captive and searched the room, demanding the keys to the locker. When she denied having the keys, one of the thieves slashed her left hand and chest.
Frustrated by the lack of valuables, the thieves stole two phones and ₹2,000. They then asked Soni about the location of any additional money, and she informed them it was downstairs.
Taking advantage of the situation, Soni quickly awakened the owner, Sukhadia, who was sleeping in another room. The thieves fled from the scene as soon as Sukhadia started making noise.
A complaint regarding the incident has been filed by Sukhadia and an investigation has been launched.
