Two school girls from Ahmedabad made the city proud by winning medals across multiple athletics events at the International School Sports Organization (ISSO) Games, held in Gurugram on October 20 and 21.
The ISSO is an initiative dedicated to the development and promotion of sports within international curriculum schools across India. More than 500 students from 107 schools participated in the 6th edition of the ISSO Games.
Anika Todi, a student of The Riverside School won a silver medal in the under-17 category in Javelin throw. She also won a bronze medal in the same age category in shot-put. Anika will now participate in the School Games Federation of India (SGFI) event.
Keya Patel of Ahmedabad International School secured two gold medals – one in the 80-metre hurdles and another in the long jump – in the under-14 category. She also won a bronze medal in the 100-metre dash.
Sanaya Raval of The Riverside School, and Pavi Jani and Yana Jani of Calorx Olive International School, also participated in the ISSO Games in different disciplines.
These athletes train at the CAFSE academy under AFI coach Joseph Sebastian in Ahmedabad.
