A special monitoring squad was formed by the Traffic Joint Commissioner of Police (JCP) NN Choudhary to monitor the traffic police and Traffic Regulatory Brigade (TRB) jawans on their duty.
The monitoring squad will ensure whether TRB jawans are true to their duty or not, while they are on the field. The jawans will be equipped with body-worn cameras, which will be monitored from a control room.
If the traffic police are caught committing anything out of their duty, action will be taken against them.
Apart from the body-worn cameras and special monitoring cell, punitive actions and even fines for not wearing uniform were discussed in a meeting held by JCP and deputy commissioner of police (DCP) traffic.
The traffic police and TRB will face disciplinary action if they are found using mobile phones at the time of duty, sitting around by the roadside, or any other offence.
