A fire broke out early on Sunday due to a short circuit in the parking of Amina Flats in Panchkuva.
The fire started on the ground floor of the building near the spot of the parking metres, where some garbage was also piled up, causing the flames to spread rapidly. Thick smoke reached up to the third floor, prompting the residents to rush to the gallery and call the fire brigade.
Four fire tenders arrived at the scene, and firefighters instructed the residents to move to the terrace for safety. The fire was brought under control in 30 minutes. Later, all the residents were safely brought down through a ladder. Fortunately, there were no casualties or injuries reported in the incident.
Station Fire Officer Sudhir Gadhvi said, “When we reached the location, around 80 people were present in the building. Two of our team members went inside and guided everyone to the terrace, while the other team started dousing the flames. Thankfully, there were no casualties or injuries.”
