A builder-developer has been fined Rs 2.5 lakh for violating cleanliness regulations at the D-Mart construction site and labour colony behind Rajpath Club. The AMC has also sealed the site for violating the norms.
The penalty was imposed following an inspection by the North-West Zone Solid Waste Department of the AMC. According to the information, the workers’ toilets were blocked, and water from the bathrooms was flowing into an open plot at the D-Mart construction site. Additionally, there was no proper waste disposal, and the site lacked any signage indicating responsible authorities such as the builder, developer, or site engineer.
While a fine of Rs 2 lakh was imposed for unhygienic conditions at the construction site, an additional Rs 50,000 was imposed for the lack of cleanliness at the labour colony.
In a separate incident, the central zone team of the Solid Waste Department conducted an inspection of commercial units in Madhupura.
