Since then, he has captivated audiences with a series of compelling and innovative projects. His latest work, The Buckingham Murders, starring Kareena Kapoor Khan, has received substantial praise from critics. In the midst of this acclaim, Mehta has expressed his admiration for Khan’s performance, emphasizing the success of their collaboration.
In an interview with Times Now, Hansal Mehta reflected on his experience working with Kareena Kapoor Khan in the investigative thriller The Buckingham Murders. He described her as not only stunning but also a joy to work with. “She is, of course, stunning but an absolute pleasure to have on set as your actor. She is sharp, relaxed, and born for the camera. Her eyes have tales to tell. She has so much to offer as an actor. It is up to us filmmakers to write parts for a talent like hers,” he shared with the portal.
During the same interview, director Hansal Mehta expressed a strong desire to explore new genres. “I desperately want to make a relationship film, a love story. A musical. I’m dying to get an opportunity to do that,” he shared.
Hansal Mehta’s The Buckingham Murders stars Kareena Kapoor Khan as a grieving police officer who, after the tragic murder of her own child, moves to a new town and takes on the investigation of another missing child. Produced by Ektaa R Kapoor, the film features an ensemble cast including Ranveer Brar, Prabhleen Sandhu, Ash Tandon, Sarah Jane Dias, and Keith Allen. Released in theatres on September 13, the movie had a modest start, earning INR 1.15 crore on its opening day.
