A fire broke out in an apartment in the Seventh Avenue building near the Gota water tank. The fire, reportedly caused by a short circuit in an air conditioner, spread quickly to the furniture.
Jayesh Pareek, 68, who was in the flat at that time, suffered burns on his hands and legs. The fire team arrived promptly and rescued Pareek. He was immediately taken to the hospital in a 108 ambulance. The fire was eventually brought under control. Authorities are investigating the exact cause of the short circuit and checking whether safety measures were in place in the building.
